Beyond excited to share our #NewPaper in @cellcellpress.bsky.social! Inflamed environments acidify intracellular #pH. BRD4 senses this via transcriptional condensates, tuning #macrophage responses to match demand and consequences of #inflammation authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S...

Another keynote speaker at #EDRC2025 is @mcgambetta.bsky.social from the Center for Integrative Genomics in Lausanne. Her research group is interested in the mechanisms of gene regulation, using #Drosophila as a model. Looking forward to her talk!

Condensates change shape and consistency, they self-organize. @pombo.garcialab.bsky.social, @kallikappel @hymanlab.bsky.social, @brangwynnelab.bsky and others share how they explore condensate behavior in this story by @vivienm.bsky.social

This is a piece that I and @karsten-rippe.bsky.social discussing a lot, and a topic that is very close to my heart. The editors @naturerevgenet.bsky.social gave us the stage to do so, and the final version of our review is now available under this link: rdcu.be/erP1u

90% of you probably don’t need to read this.
But maybe some of you are curious & 10% will feel seen. Or a little less alone. This isn’t about seeking sympathy.
It’s about sharing something hard to say out loud;
partly to heal, partly in case someone needs to hear it too. (1/3)

Thanks for the shoot-out @zebrafishrock.bsky.social! This beautiful work by the Hnisz lab characterized a micropeptide (killswitch) and used it to probe condensates. This opens the door to assess the function of condensates and @shivalidongre.bsky.social did just that in our beloved fish embryo.
Contains a #zebrafish cameo from the @nvastenhouw.bsky.social Lab!
What controls condensate composition and function beyond binding stoichiometry? We show that condensate microenvironments play a key role, and can be probed by a micropeptide killswitch in live cells. www.nature.com/articles/s41... in @nature.com ‬ with @yaotianzhang.bsky.social Denes Hnisz & team.
