Most scam victims don't lack "common sense". Scam victims, essentially, are vulnerable in some way. They're horrified, terrified, or their thinking is currently impaired, or they're ill, or they're new immigrants who don't know the minutia of how government operates, etc., etc.
What always gets me about scams is how many people fall for them. Like, this is just common sense.

Other terms like “Arab” or “Islamic” world also inaccurately reflect cultural diversity in the area, and deny the existence of Arabs and Muslims in other parts of the world /1
