Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.

The most unbelievable thing about the Progressive “stop young homeowners from turning into their parents” commercials is acting like young people in this country can afford a house.

Watching The Diplomat reminds me when I was 8 & I asked my parents what the VP does while waiting for the prez to die. Mom said, "He goes to funerals." Apparently realizing that wasn't enough, she & my dad fumbled around for another thing & landed on "making speeches."

They didn't have Netflix.

Watching The Diplomat and it's like being transported to a parallel universe where things like rules and laws still matter to the people running our country and no one is prioritizing a ballroom. It's bizarre.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

It's not rude to ask creators the best way to make sure your money gets to them, I assure you! They will be generally happy to tell you. Indeed, I have a whole article about it:

Good Lord, how does the boot leather taste?
Corporations have been using machine learning & other software to screen resumes, without a human touching them, for a decade.

Then, when job-seekers do the same thing, this writer *clutches his pearls*? 😆😆😆😆

It's banned books week and I promise you the only reason this book isn't banned is because they haven't heard of it yet

Because these are exactly the stories they don't want us telling #ChoicesAnthology
#ChoicesAnthology is the collective scream of people of marginalized genders facing the control and theft of our reproductive rights, filled with stories of terror, tragedy, resistance, and revenge

If you want to know how the economy is really doing - not how the stock market is doing or how the talking heads on TV are spinning it, but how it's REALLY doing, here are 2 things to look at:

Had a disappointing day #dumpsterdiving. I think the economy is now so fucked the rich college kids moving out have decided to hang onto the Xboxes and Gucci bags their parents bought them.

Finally transferred the 7.34 I've had in Mercari since selling something 3 yrs ago to my bank.

Started saving Coke cans to recycle for $.

Signed up to take surveys for $ & made $1.
