Omfg why can infection control not get their 🤬 clown car in order and do their 🤬 jobs and tell people that for an aerosol hazard you need aerosol PPE?

Seriously, wtf is wrong with medicine that it tolerates this constant amateur-hour incompetence? We know this is killing people!

"Do no harm"?

"Faced with a rapid rise in respiratory infections, several hospitals in the Île-de-France region have decided to reinstate mandatory mask-wearing for healthcare workers, visitors, and patients over the age of 6."

Today, The New York Times has published a story eviscerating Danielle Smith and her provincial government's response to the measles crisis in Alberta.

Interestingly, Deena Hinshaw is interviewed for what appears to be the first time since she was fired.

So…

Former UCP Minister Pete Guthrie has asked Smith to answer some questions…

These are basically legislative FOIP requests.

And uh…

What’s going on in Brazil now?

For me, this is at the crux of the UCP's use of the notwithstanding clause.
By using the notwithstanding clause pre-emptively - which, again, they *can* but *need not* do - the UCP is not simply admitting that their laws are breaching Charter rights and bypassing the courts.

They are further admitting that their laws cannot be justified in a free and democratic society.

What is the "Corrupt Care" scandal?

Pete Guthrie, who left the UCP over their refusal to call a public inquiry, summed it up impressively today.

And he called out the UCP MLA's and ministers who remain silent on it.

Note that 25 million deaths ago, transdisciplinary experts warned the arrogant 🤬ups in public health and infection control leadership who make public health policy that COVID is airborne - and were mocked and ignored, and drowned out by taxpayer-funded public health budgets used as PR slush funds.
Happy International Women's Day!

A reminder that this specific screwup has now killed ~25 million people.

A world that allows an influential, entitled, ignorant man to just shout down a smarter and more knowledgeable woman 👉can literally kill you.👈

Using the notwithstanding clause is constitutional (in that it's part of the constitution). Using it pre-emptively allows Smith to bypass the courts entirely when removing Albertans' freedoms, though.

Time allocation removes the legislature's ability to provide another form of scrutiny.+

Coal royalties in 2024/25 were $15.5 million. The government has now paid out more than $200 million in claims to Australian mining companies for bungling this file.
Another Australian coal company has announced that it has reached a settlement ($95 million)with the GoA over its compensation claims due to Alberta's coal policy flip flops.
Once again this info comes to AB taxpayers from the company website.
No disclosure from the GoA.

So far the GoA has shelled out (only what we know) $237.8 million (142.8M to Atrum and 95M to Evolve) to cover its mismanagement of the coal file
Meanwhile coal revenues for 2004/5 brought in a mere 0.4% of total resource revenues for AB or $15.5M.
And why is there no money for teachers?

In December of 2022, the Govt of Canada offered 96,000 bottles of Australian Tylenol (the real brand) to Alberta.

It wasn’t AHS that refused.

It was the govt, saying that wouldn’t be enough.

How many bottles were actually used in hospitals?

9,000.

Just to be incredibly clear, any government that wants a thriving economy and people to be healthy would make it as EASY as possible to get vaccinated: outreach and drop-in vaccination clinics in schools, workplaces, shopping malls, places of faith, and so on.

This preorder nonsense is anti-life.
🚨 This is inexplicable news to share. If in Alberta and you want flu and covid shots for NEXT year (2026-2027), you have only until December 15 of THIS year to order them.

This is not incompetence. It’s a deliberate choice to prevent as many people ..
