This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Also, I finished the MM Romance I mentioned the other day and I am....obsessed?? #TheMurderBetweenUs was so good. Perfect amount of suspense, chemistry, and tension. I never felt like anything was being dragged out, everything felt very intentional. Can't wait to get into the sequel! #booksky

Started an MM Romance today while at my in-laws house 🙈 I've had it downloaded to my kindle for so long I forgot it was a MM Romance #booksky

Been in such a reading slump lately, but #TheLightness by Emily Temple may have dragged me out of it. It was exactly the kind of coming-of-age novel I love. Atmospheric, tense, and a little bit funny. Loved the setting and the characters #booksky

Also finished up #BornACrime by #TrevorNoah as my 2nd nonfiction book of the year. Incredible book! Noah is a gifted writer and his grit and humor shine through on this book. I might give the audiobook a listen since he narrates it. #booksky

Officially finished my first #BG3 playthrough! 104 hours. Taking all of my willpower not to just immediately load up a new game 😂

In happier news, today is National Black Women Physicians Day.

My fellow Black women physicians and I proudly stand on the shoulders of Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler (1831–1895), who, in 1864, became the first Black woman to earn a medical degree in the United States.

folks really need to accept that "lawful" and "lawless" don't matter, what matters is being able to marshal and deploy force (force of capital, the force of arms, the force of a crowd...) none of the people running the country right now give a good goddamn about the law
Reminder: this is completely lawless

DOGE's next target is the CFPB, which has returned $20B to the victims of financial fraud and abuse since 2011.

Trump just fired its pro-consumer director and had his Treasury Secretary, a hedge fund manager, halt the CFPB's work.

This is a coup against the American people.

Wrapped up #ListenfortheLie by Amy Tinterra today! Loved this one. I liked the podcast format, the lost memories, and the FMCs incredibly dry, dark, humor. It also stuck the landing, imho, which is usually when thrillers lose me. It was a fun, quick, read! #booksky

Finished #TheBadOnes by Melissa Albert yesterday! Really enjoyed this one, honestly. I loved the dry humor and the exploration of a toxic friendship. I feel like this is going to be a very thriller heavy month for me #booksky

January's #readingwrapup! Pretty successful reading month. Excited to continue with #RedRising, #BittenandBound is my new incredibly problematic fav, and #Slewfoot was the female rage book I needed in my life. Shepherd King Duology was okay! Glad I read it. #storygraph #booksky
