The shutdown is at 39 days but SNAP has only been cut for 8 and we're already seeing massive demand for food pantries, desperate pleas for direct help and assistance on related things like helping people keep pets. This is precarity at its highest. While the rich get richer.

Had a routine check-up today and my doctor’s office offered me a flu shot! This is the first time they’ve had that available!
I still need to go to the local retail pharmacy for COVID & my tdap booster, but this is great!

I think it’s interesting that sepsis can be so tricky to diagnose when it’s the most specific feeling I’ve ever had. What’s the feeling? “Oh I’m dying. Actively dying to death.”

Just watched The Haunting(1963). It’s a pretty good adaptation of the book. I just wish it kept to the original ending that makes the other 3 look complicit in Eleanor’s death. Or, more charitably, that they’re just as affected by the house.

I’m forever looking for books that hit like The Haunting of Hill House & I believe I’ll be chasing that high for the rest of my life.

It’s about that time to start getting ready to be back at work. This year, I want to invest in learning about how to do conflict/confrontation with adults for the benefit of kids.

Effectively eliminating Medicaid would be catastrophic in a myriad of ways that many people are blissfully unaware of because they don’t how deeply Medicaid is woven into our society. If you care about public health, jobs, hospitals, the economy, or just people being alive: Call your reps.
