Stories like this matter because Elon still has lots of soldiers who genuinely believe that he lives up to his "first principles" patter, and puts merit and efficacy first.
Experienced tech folks need to make it clear that he and his goons are partisan hacks with "limited technical understanding."

When Trump says Americans will "Feel some pain" he means everyday Americans, not him or the billionaires that he's surrounded himself with. The most likely scenario is that those tariff dollars collected will be funneled into tax cuts for the 1%.

I was shocked by the fatalism and inertia of it. If you are too. Call your own reps and FIRE THEM UP. Even if they disagree with you. They need to hear it, and they need to be pushed.

I went to my Congressman's local office today. First off, they were surprised that I was there. They said they had been getting phone calls, but I was the first walk-in. That said, the phones were not ringing off the hook. If the DC phone lines are busy, try calling the local office.
