And ... that's actually the right framing?

This isn't about making government "more efficient" or more productive; it is "anti-government" at its core.

Musk called federal workers "the opposition," which says it all.

He's a threat to our government, which is to say, he's a threat to all of us.

Compared with any other major country, the United States has been extremely fortunate in its two immediate neighbors, Canada and Mexico.

Now, incredibly, it is declaring economic war on both of them. This is a war no one can win, and from which tens of millions will lose.

This is insanity.

Elon Musk is not a Federal employee or a political appointee. DOGE is not a real department. None of their activities are legal. This is a coup. The Republicans in Congress are willing participants in it. At what point do Democrats in DC get that and start acting like it? It’s not the price of eggs!

I’m going to put my rich guy hat on and say I hope that Mexico and Canada issue equal, retaliatory tariffs and stick to them for an extended period.

I apologize to all the people it will cost money and the businesses it will hurt.

But it’s the only way for tariffs to be seen for what they are

Did you know that when you get a suntan, most of the light comes from our sun... but a portion comes from more distant stars. A tiny, tiny bit comes from galaxies beyond our own. Protons have travelled many light years to meet your waiting skin.
