Tenets of Infectious Diseases:

1. Source control, source control, source control
2. Stuff sticks to metal (and other material)
3. The drug has to get in to work (GI absorption, tissue penetration, presence of walled-off collection, etc.)
4. Antibiotics should not be anxiolytics

En conclusion, il serait intéressant de limiter l'usage de la ceftriaxone à certaines situations clairement définies : infections digestives et biliaires, patient ambulatoire ou non perfusable.
Dans toutes les autres indications, préférer le cefotaxime ! 8/8

We lack oral options for most MDR-GNB among current or upcoming antibiotics, so ambulatory care for these patients will relay largely on #OPAT.
