Minnesota transplant. Beard appreciator (moustache envier).

I HAD A DOCTORATE IN INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY BUT ON JULY 1ST 2024 I BARGAINED AWAY MY KNOWLEDGE FOR MADNESS AND A VARIETY OF SILLY COSTUMES AND I HAVE YET TO REGRET THIS EXCHANGE.
A hearing!?

Why do we need a hearing? We've all seen the kidnappings.

How about you use that vaunted senatorial power to deny unanimous consent, as the absolutely barest of starting points?

/6 Also, it is the obligation of every lawyer who takes their oath and the Constitution seriously to shun from legal society every single AUSA and DoJ lawyer participating in this. Strike their names from every book and tablet, every pylon and obelisk, every monument of the rule of law.

I will also accept Iceland's choice as a suitable runner-up.

I AM SO SORRY.

YOU ARE MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE IN THE FACE OF A SUBLIME HORROR.

Okay, where is post number two with the concrete actions you will take?

These are just nice-sounding words, in no way related to the host of actions you could take as a United States senator.

Will you deny unanimous consent in protest? Will you support impeachment?

WHAT. WILL. YOU. ACTUALLY. DO.

I swear we just had this conversation when the Maine oysterguy turned out to be Nazi. It's entirely possible for awful people to stop being awful, but that doesn't mean they are owed the right to power over people or access to their victims, and we're not required to launder their reputations.

Also, expecting the people she has harmed to forgive her when she has NOT changed her behavior towards them and is STILL HARMING THEM WHILE ON THE JOB is a bit much. She has not apologized for her racist or antisemitic behavior. She apologized for her tone. That's it.

It is on Greene, and only Greene, to do the work to become a good person. Also, it is important to note that forgiveness is NOT the same thing as trust. And you can give forgiveness and not give trust.

However, I will not be providing her with either.

A racist changing is not dependent upon having contact with the people they have harmed. It is not dependent on forgiveness from the people they have harmed. It is not on black people to put themselves in harm's way so a bigot can practice being a decent human being. To expect that is highly unfair.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is a racist who uses her position of power and her platform to harm people she believes to be from inferior races. I will never forgive her. Luckily, she can change without my forgiveness. If she wanted to. Which she does not.

It doesn't really matter that the Texas maps might be dead. Republicans have enough gerrymanders in place for Democrats to go full throttle with theirs.

I mean yeah it sucks we didn't hold out a few more weeks to possibly lose the filibuster, the reason 90% of progressive goals failed over the last 20 years, but did you consider that would have made the Senate's holiday travel plans difficult
