Rewarding a dictator-aggressor always leads to another war. One that is usually even worse.

Everyone should read this today.
This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

Trump bought Boeing bonds while rewarding the company billions in federal contracts.

He bought Intel bonds after directing the government to acquire a stake in the company.

He bought Meta bonds while pushing AI-friendly policy.

Trump isn’t governing — he’s cashing in.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Nobody wants this shit. Nobody.

The hostile reaction has been so pronounced, in fact, that it feels like a company announcing it would never force AI into its products would carve out a pretty good chunk of the market.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

I spoke with the Boston Globe about the Summers situation

TLDR: other professors like myself can no longer trust Summers to perform a key duty of a university professor, which is to advise & mentor students

Long a coveted voice, Larry Summers withdraws from a half-dozen groups amid Epstein ties. Harvard’s not among them. - The Boston Globe
Former Harvard president Larry Summers is no longer affiliated with a series of centers and think tanks with which he’s long been involved, officials confirmed Tuesday.

The destruction of US science will be felt worldwide for decades. Take it from @msier.bsky.social, who was the lead program director for the Biological Oceanography program at the US National Science Foundation.
I don’t think people understand how wrecked it is or how hard it will be to rebuild.

"His curiosity has always been his most compelling strength"

Most voters probably have no idea how the federal government works, mostly for the general benefit of the public, so had no real idea what the stakes were when they voted whether they heard those messages or not.

MICHELLE OBAMA, on whether a woman can get elected president:

Lots of people laughing that Trump has confessed his tariffs drove up prices.

Too many aren't mentioning that he'll have to pay the tariffs back, meaning there'll be no $$ for rebates.

Trump has only bankrupted consumers and created a big hole in his budget.
