Parking mandates increase housing costs.

Cities can choose to lower housing costs by getting rid of these requirements

Opinion: Want more affordable housing? Start by ending parking mandates.
Chicago’s iconic two- and three-flats are at risk. Reforming parking mandates could help preserve them and expand affordable housing across the city.

Wrote the first draft of my chapter about this program last week
It's not just fdr. One of the things the epa did not long after it was formed was document the nation's pollution via photography. That can seem frivolous, but generations of Americans have no idea why the EPA was necessary. This broke a million views when we published it in 2017
This is what America looked like before the EPA cleaned it up
A snapshot from America before the impact of the EPA and the effects of rules regulating clean water and air were felt.

You could have killed a lighting or interior designer from any era before about 1990 by showing them those reels of tape with spaced out LED lights that you can string up, cut, etc, and then telling them how little they cost

Deeply disappointed to find that the EPA’s Environmental Justice Screen tool (EJ Screen) is gone. EJScreen identified areas with environmental factors that may be harmful to vulnerable populations - such as lead paint prevalence, air pollution etc. it was a great resource for early site research

sharing final photography for the North Side Housing Shelter - a 10,000-square-foot non-congregate facility in a formerly vacant building, that provides a much-needed place of shelter for 70 homeless men. Trauma informed design infuses the notion of home and safety throughout (c)Gensler/Gillian Fry
