Data analyst (did e/thing in Excel for years, now slowly teaching myself R, SQL, DAX, & Python) by accident. Did Geology at QUB, but I'd love to go back and do Archaeology (Lidar! *_*). Alas, bills.

Today I spent some time cross-stitching which was very nice and relaxing until I realised that the lighting was rubbish and I had just done a whole section in the wrong shade of white. Then I spent some time un-cross-stitching.

Egyptian Blue Bes ceramic Statue from the British museum shop, kind of looks like a tiny suspicious bear? He's adorable A middle Egyptian turquoise hippo from the met. He looks despondent and adorable. He has line art of reeds painted on his back and face. A ceramic baby rattle from the met shaped like a pig. However it doesn't look much like a pig, it's giving creature saying ooooooo. It's adorable. Little red earthenware bowl from the met. It has two little humanoid feet on the bottom and looks like he's standing shyly. Adorable.

~32,000 yrs ago a ground squirrel in Siberia stashed some fruit in a burrow, which was later buried & frozen. In the 2000s scientists unearthed the fruit & cultivated its tissue

It grew into this: a Pleistocene ancestor of the narrow-leafed campion (Silene stenophylla)
