It’s so boring and predictable that men are reacting to Taylor Swift finally owning her songs by either nitpicking her letter or sharing how much they dislike the Taylor’s Versions or “Reputation.” Heaven forbid a woman just be celebrated for taking back her art and creative work.

After Rümeysa Öztürk wrote an op-ed about Palestinians in Gaza, masked, plainclothes ICE agents grabbed her off the street. No one knew who they were or if it was even a real arrest. In a democracy, that shouldn’t happen. And we can’t let it become the new normal.
Why Are They Hiding Their Faces?
If ICE agents' actions are perfectly acceptable, they shouldn't have to mask their identities

The hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin) is a weird & wonderful bird, native to the Orinoco & Amazon basins in South America, where it lives in trees overhanging rivers & marshes.

It has a striking look reminiscent of fossil birds like Archaeopteryx, but is more closely related to cranes & plovers.

But Linda Martin's suit raises another issue, which strikes at the root: If the government cannot explain why agents are taking someone's life savings—then perhaps they shouldn't be taking it. /end reason.com/2025/03/20/t...
The FBI seized this woman's life savings—without telling her why
Linda Martin's lawsuit alleges that the agency violated her right to due process when it took her $40,200 and sent her a notice failing to articulate the reason.

Musk and his staffers are weaponizing federal data to remove immigrants from housing and jobs. This sets a dangerous precedent—one that won’t stop here. The information they’ve collected will soon be used against all of us.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

When you look at the list of institutions they want to defund: libraries, museums, the Smithsonian, public schools, PBS, NPR, archives, you can clearly see that the real threat to an authoritarian regime is an informed and educated public

To those unfollowing since I began my book spotlight series for Black History Month…✌️

I’m not sure who you THOUGHT you were following, but on this account we uplift and celebrate marginalized voices, including books written by black authors. (and that’s all year ‘round folks).
