Heated Rivalry arrived in that space between Thanksgiving (US) and Christmas just when many queer people are feeling especially isolated/invisible. It’s given us something positive, fun, and romantic to enjoy, talk about, and connect with/through at exactly the time of year when we need it the most.

Joe Rogan is an entertainer. Ben Shapiro is an entertainer. Charlie Kirk was an entertainer. If someone hosts a podcast the odds are pretty good that they are entertainers and not trained professionals in any of the areas they might be discussing.

Considering that it’s currently an all volunteer force, it seems counterproductive for Pete Hegseth to look for ways to aggressively thin the ranks over things like beards and whether a woman can do as many pull-ups as a man.

People will ask, “How do we reduce crime in our neighborhoods?” and the answer is almost universally “Meet the needs of the people living there.”

One of the best anti-crime policies is ensuring that people make a true living wage, have access to affordable healthcare, and housing costs don’t exceed 1/4 of their budget. You reduce crime by meeting people’s needs.

In truth, I see nothing about our current predicament that would lead me to embrace feelings of despair. Yes, these times are difficult, upsetting on a daily basis, and often injurious to the most vulnerable among us. But they are not as strong as they appear and we are not as powerless as we seem.

Personally, I’ve tried to adhere to 2 guiding principles in my continued quest for food and shelter. First, try not to make anyone else’s day worse as a byproduct of doing (or not doing) your job. Second, never knowingly lie or deceive someone on behalf of anyone you work for.

You can tell these guys don't read very often. We're all paying the price for not teaching the humanities to science majors and business majors. There's a gaping hole in each of them where ethical behavior and their moral compass should be.
