This administration has purged roughly 300,000 career civil service workers in the last year. Who exactly does he think is going to "run" Venezuela?

Heated Rivalry arrived in that space between Thanksgiving (US) and Christmas just when many queer people are feeling especially isolated/invisible. It’s given us something positive, fun, and romantic to enjoy, talk about, and connect with/through at exactly the time of year when we need it the most.

TP USA doing a full on embrace of the WWE runway walkout, complete with sparklers and pyrotechnics, should surprise absolutely no one. They are both fictional, character driven universes that strive to entertain roughly the same audience in much the same way.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Joe Rogan is an entertainer. Ben Shapiro is an entertainer. Charlie Kirk was an entertainer. If someone hosts a podcast the odds are pretty good that they are entertainers and not trained professionals in any of the areas they might be discussing.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

The omniforce is accountable only to Trump: they ignore state and local guidance, or court decisions. Forget about knowing the identity of the official. Now you may not know which agency he works for, or even if he is an agent of the state.

Considering that it’s currently an all volunteer force, it seems counterproductive for Pete Hegseth to look for ways to aggressively thin the ranks over things like beards and whether a woman can do as many pull-ups as a man.

People will ask, “How do we reduce crime in our neighborhoods?” and the answer is almost universally “Meet the needs of the people living there.”

One of the best anti-crime policies is ensuring that people make a true living wage, have access to affordable healthcare, and housing costs don’t exceed 1/4 of their budget. You reduce crime by meeting people’s needs.

In truth, I see nothing about our current predicament that would lead me to embrace feelings of despair. Yes, these times are difficult, upsetting on a daily basis, and often injurious to the most vulnerable among us. But they are not as strong as they appear and we are not as powerless as we seem.

If you cancel your Disney/Hulu subscription you should probably assume that you’re landing on a government watchlist.

Personally, I’ve tried to adhere to 2 guiding principles in my continued quest for food and shelter. First, try not to make anyone else’s day worse as a byproduct of doing (or not doing) your job. Second, never knowingly lie or deceive someone on behalf of anyone you work for.

Just thinking about how the right made up an entirely fictional left wing character that resulted in so many bomb threats and the like and nobody will face consequences. But people on the left who accurately clocked the victim’s life work lost jobs.

I know that the world can seem pretty bleak and devoid of love at times. So I want you to know that I made up 3 songs for my dog this morning that she probably wishes I would stop singing to her.

This ad should run during every NFL kickoff, every college football opener, every “Friday Night Lights.” Because school shootings are as American as football now.

This is a paragraph Brett Kavanaugh wrote on his little computer and then sent out into the world:

You can tell these guys don't read very often. We're all paying the price for not teaching the humanities to science majors and business majors. There's a gaping hole in each of them where ethical behavior and their moral compass should be.
