There are probably many conservative politicians and donors that are happy to benefit financially from the proximity to power they currently have while also knowing that the independence of the Fed is critical for their ability to continue to doing so.

He’s playing a zero sum game, by default. Equality is 100% a dirty word to him in that context.

What’s the point of negotiating with a malignant narcissist? You don’t negotiate with mental illness any more than you do alcoholism. You offer treatment options compassionate care, and social support. You don’t pretend like they are not alcoholics because that just hurts everyone.

These two principles haven’t made me rich but they have allowed me to sleep at night. I often think about the kind of world we might have if more people considered these two simple acts as they moved through their day.
