The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

Anyone notice that Speaker Johnson subtly dismissed Congress today so that they won't be in session on Friday?

Hmmm, anything big set to happen on Friday that might upset people?

Let me see here... Trump is planning to launch a full-scale war against Venezuela on the same day that the Epstein files must be released according to a law passed by Congress and signed by Trump.

It is almost as if Trump will stop at nothing, including war crimes, to keep the files secret.

Today's abysmal jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich don’t create jobs or grow the economy.

What's required is investment in working people — and better wages.

When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs.

Remember this.

Their closing message to Indiana: change your maps to artificially benefit the President's political party or 'roads will not be paved' as punishment.

They are openly saying this.

Who would want to live in a country that works like that?

It’s time to stop saying that we need to understand these people. We do understand them.

We understand that they have dug in their heels so deeply, they will not be moved by anything: not facts or data or truth or their own eyes.

Mike Johnson suffers from a sensory deprivation condition common among Republicans: He can't see or hear anything inconvenient.
RAJU: If defenseless survivors were killed, would that constitute a violation of the laws of war?

MIKE JOHNSON: I'm not going to prejudge any of that. I was pretty busy yesterday. I didn't follow a lot of the news.

Department of Defense Law of War Manual, Sec. 18.3.2.1 states the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders.

What’s its key example? Wait for it . . . It’s "orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.
