When companies generate renewable energy, they are expected to give money back to the local community.

But the amount of cash we’re talking about is pitiful because the rules haven’t changed in a decade.

We need to change those rules to cut energy bills for local people.

Great to see @eddavey.libdems.org.uk visit Inverness, Fife, and Edinburgh last week to talk-up renewable energy & sustainable agriculture.

On BBC Debate Night, I spoke about how we simply can’t afford not to act on the climate crisis.

Governments need to improve EV charging, properly insulate homes, and ensure new builds meet modern energy standards. No one should be living in a cold home in the 21st century.

It's great to see @eddavey.libdems.org.uk & the @libdems.org.uk unashamedly push progressive environmental policies that strengthen our economy.

I was delighted to win an award at the Scottish Environment Link Nature Champion Awards yesterday evening, for campaigning for the protection of sand eels. They are an important source of food for birds, including puffins, and are now protected from commercial fishing.

Scotland's Rural College plays a key role in animal welfare - this is a massive blow to the next generations tasked with helping Scotland's nature.
SRUC have informed me that they are proceeding with the closure of the animal care unit at Elmwood. This is a devastating blow to the staff, students and the local area.

Thank you Tim: our environment knows no borders - coal pollution could've impacted both Cumbria and Scotland, around 50 miles away.

Also great to see you champion British coastal tidal projects and investment! 👏👏👏
After years of campaigning it’s welcome that these environmentally backwards plans have been axed.

The UK steel industry was very clear that this coal was NOT suitable for steel making in this country and so the economic case for this polluting mine was completely dead www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Whitehaven deep coal mine plans officially dropped
Plans for the first deep coal mine in the UK in more than 30 years are officially abandoned.
