As a retired RN and a science lover, I thank you to @boghuma.bsky.social and the many others at CDC. They are uncharted territory and doing what they can for our health.
There is a massive walk out at the CDC by staff unfolding right now. It is NECESSARY. I stand in solidarity with my CDC colleagues. standing up for science and public health. It is a moral imperative.

Before July, the program had been tracking infections caused by 6 additional pathogens: campylobacter, cyclospora, listeria, shigella, vibrio and Yersinia.

Surveillance has been reduced to just two pathogens: salmonella and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli.
The CDC quietly scaled back a surveillance program for foodborne illnesses
As of July 1, a critical surveillance program is monitoring for only two pathogens instead of the usual eight.

This lack of medical care reminds of the snowball rolling down the hill. I wonder if the average American is thinking about this, I suspect not.
As is, there’s a predicted shortage of 80,000 US physicians by the end of the decade.

Now add in new restrictions to foreign grads, federal loan caps, declining salaries, increasing demands, disrespect, and moral injury.

Nutrition, exercise, and supplements can only do so much.

In a review on the use of thimerosal in vaccines slated to be presented to the CDC's vaccine committee cites a study that does not exist, the scientist listed as study's author said.🧵
US CDC report shows no link between thimerosal-containing vaccines and autism
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posted a report on Tuesday that said evidence does not support a link between thimerosal-containing vaccines and autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders, ahead of a two-day meeting of an advisory panel later this week.

“Vote on thimerosal containing influenza vaccines” means they are planning to take away influenza vaccines from the most disadvantaged people. Thimerosal (thiomersal) is only in multi-dose flu vaccines. It’s not in single-dose, prefilled shots. It’s also been proven completely safe since the 1990s.
"Proposed recommendations regarding thiomersal..."

Ffs how many times do we have to have this discussion with these morons.

1. Most US vaccines have had thiomersal removed for literally decade+
2. We need to discuss again the difference between ethyl & methyl mercury...
