My nursing education journey mirrors so many others in the US. As someone that relied on these loan programs, this issue would have affected me as an NP student. This affects the future of healthcare, regardless of whether this admin recognizes nursing as a profession or not…
WSNA opposes a Department of Education proposal that would bar nursing graduate programs from “professional degree” status, limiting loans and harming the future nursing workforce.

Without access to sufficient loans, the impact on the nursing workforce, including the work of preparing new nurses to enter the workforce, can be severe.

Enough…We all must firmly reject the misrepresentation of the facts by the CDC and RFK Jr. Patients should trust the nurses, physicians, and healthcare experts who do the work are accountable for the advice they provide.
WSNA unequivocally rejects language recently posted by the CDC on its website stating that: “The claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.”
