NYT: One estimate finds that DOGE’s “firings, re-hirings, lost productivity and paid leave of thousands of workers” will actually COST taxpayers “upward of $135 billion this fiscal year.”

Have just passed a semi truck with a sign on the back encouraging me to save a life by donating blood (and not a Red Cross truck). Ominous in a way I cannot define.

1. Stop assuming people announce all their activism on social media.

2. Stop demanding people announce all their activism on social media.

3. Stop deriding people for not announcing all their activism on social media.

4. Dunking on people on social media isn't activism and isn't praxis.

Celebrate International Women's Day by interrupting men with your unsolicited opinions and taking credit for their work. If they get upset about it, be sure to tell them that they sound hysterical and should smile more.

🧶 The Spite Sweater is coming along! The pine trees more or less look like pine trees, and I’ve finally gotten to the third color! I think my goal is to have it wearable by St Patrick’s Day.

🧶 started a sweater yesterday mostly out of spite against the knitting group I hung out with Wed. who spent the whole time complaining about how they NEVER buy acrylic yarn & how much it sucks like dang, sorry you’re all rich old ladies but those of us on teacher salaries buy what we can afford!

disturbing uptick in "we post tweets and talk about them." servile behavior tbh. bluesky is not the Greek chorus for the main character action of twitter, that's loser thinking, have some pride. twitter is dead. post bangers. thank you

I’m a firm believer in second chances, but I’m also a firm believer that anyone who is planning to spend thousands of dollars on Fyre Two is an idiot.

I was just thinking that today was probably going to be a day for donuts.

And then I got sucked into imagining if A Day For Donuts was George RR Martin's next book ⚔️🍩🍩🐉🐲

Watching a group of 60+ white people experience salmon cooked in the dishwasher for the first time is a blindingly surreal experience. Like being the only self-aware penguin in the nature documentary. I feel like David Attenborough should have narrated my dinner.

Sunday is for #crochet! Sister requested a “gay lobster” and so this ball of blanket yarn is dedicated to queer underwater organisms.

why go to therapy when you can drink coffee and buy books as a little treat to fill the void inside.

Video games are cool because they let you experience things you can only fantasise about IRL.

For example, in The Sims, you can afford a house if you have a full-time job.

Feels like we all need to add as much pro-social, Mr Rogers like activity as possible just as a homeostatic response to all the ambient evil floating around right now.

Anyway I just signed up to read with little kids on Wednesday mornings before work.
