The Department of Justice has removed a study showing that white supremacist and far-right violence “continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism” in the United States.

it's absolutely critical to understand in this moment that people aren't largely reacting to who Charlie Kirk was as a person, but who they knew him as because of what tiny pieces of him got clipped out and stuck in their newsfeeds.
reposting with alt text because this feels incredibly significant. the right-wing disinfo machine means a lot of the people grieving Charlie Kirk never heard any of the things he said that would have tarnished his brand as Guy Who Just Wants to Have Dialogue Across the Aisle

Weird how when a Trump supporter, white supremacist, and reportedly, a former member of Turning Point USA shot up Florida State University (FSU) several months ago and killed two people - there wasn't the same national conversation about "political violence." www.mediaite.com/news/mass-sh...

There are violent extremists on the left but they are not in charge of the party. You can find them on social media, not in the halls of power.

The violent extremists on the right are in congress, on courts, and sitting in the Oval Office.

The 16-year-old who shot two students in a Colorado high school on the same day Charlie Kirk was killed was a virulent white supremacist and antisemite www.denverpost.com/2025/09/11/e...

The Nation pulls NO punches, from @espiers.bsky.social

"There's no requirement to take part in this whitewashing campaign. Refusing to join in doesn’t make anyone a bad person. It’s a choice to write an obituary that begins “Joseph Goebbels was a gifted marketer and loving father to six children.”
Charlie Kirk’s Legacy Deserves No Mourning
The white Christian nationalist provocateur wasn’t a promoter of civil discourse. He preached hate, bigotry, and division

The thing about this CDC walkout is that it will likely have no effect on the admin. Right now, thousands of MAGA and wellness grifters are rejoicing that the corruption is literally walking out of the CDC.

There's a lot about RFK jr that makes me nervous, but him mentioning "mitochondrial challenges" is extremely concerning. I have a mito disorder. I also have a family member who believes that vaccines invade your mitochondria and turn you into a demon. Does RFKjr believe this nonsense, too?

WTF is an Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation officer doing here? Somehow I doubt he's checking that folks are properly declaring commuter expenses.

Today I saw two videos on a different app from Gen Z marketers. In one of them, the person didn't know why MS Now, formally MSNBC, no longer uses the peacock in their logo. She was so surprised to discover that that rainbow of colors had a peacock head carved into it. It was news to her.

I'm in a weird place with AI copywriting. I think we need to stop trying to see AI in everything people write, but then also when every brand sends an email that says "this is where x meets x" I want to scream "THAT'S AI"

So, @somemorenews.bsky.social had an absolutely misogynistic take on books. I don’t even read those books, but fucking yikes. Their take is textbook, pardon the pun, misogynistic. Women enjoy something! Let’s make fun of it!

People talk a lot about how “the system” is broken. “We should be mad at the system & not take it out on people.” As if the system appeared out of thin air & runs itself. People power the system & profit off of the suffering it creates.

If anyone somehow missed memo from 8 years ago: People from every sector need to be part of the resistance, it is not just up to activists. It’s up to doctors, nurses, teachers, professors, students, writers, parents, artists, designers, farmers, corporate folks, etc… If you’re enraged, get engaged.

The “unfollow ppl who follow RFKjr” thing is misguided. You’re assuming everyone is as chronically connected to politics as you are.
