Sometimes when I google an issue I have with my phone or computer, it magically resolves itself. A few days ago I googled what to do about the fan noise from my Mac. It's been 100% silent since, and I didn't do anything. Next I'm googling how to win the lottery.

Today on technology gone wild: Sarah logs into her Google account on her iPad (which she is faaairly certain she has done before), and receives 5 security alerts (after already confirming on her phone that it was her).

A pastel summer sunset over the Ionian sea brought her back to that very first time: the salt on the breeze, the beginning soreness of sunburn, the questioning quirk of an eyebrow, and strawberries on ice. He always had strawberries on ice. They bloomed red now on the inside of her eyelids. #whistpr

Do any of you other #writers have this thing wherein suddenly a perfectly normal word just looks weird? Like you're sure it's spelled wrong even though you get no squiggly line. For me today that word is "suspicions". I feel like I'm trying to write "suspicious" and turned the u the wrong way round.

He loved that she loved him, but he had to #critique: she should be more adventurous, would look better blonde, could stand to lose some weight.

She really did love him, so she took his advice to heart: booked a flight, dyed her hair, and left his body somewhere nice.

Also once in kindergarten when we were playing hospital I swallowed a button and had to go to the actual hospital. I always strive for realism.

Show of hands, who read Astrid Lindgren's Madicken as a child and stuck a pea up their nose? ✋

Is this a strictly #scandinavian phenomenon?

Hey, at least I didn't attempt to jump off a building with an umbrella for a parachute.

I was going to go make dinner, but MissChief has deigned to keep me company in my office which means I'm not permitted to move. Good thing I have chocolate in my desk drawer. #cats #catoverlords #homeoffice

Interesting. Didn't know this, but will be mindful going forward!
I have run into an issue when folks keep referring to the authors I translate based on one part of their name, assuming it is the last name.

Xiao Xi 小西 and Fei Ming 废名 are both pen names that are phrases, and cannot be referred to as Xiao, Xi, Fei, or Ming 💀

My poetry debut Murmurations turns 3 months this week! After so many years of not trusting myself and thinking I'm not good enough I finally silenced (temporarily) that inner judge and put myself out there. Feels good! Here's a predictive text game for you: "My next book is about"... and then let your phone decide the rest. Mine decided that my next book is about how the universe works. So, just simple, low-key stuff, ya know?

Insects might be dying, but mozzies are *thriving*, living their best life, feasting on my blood. 45 minute walk in the forest *with* bug spray and I have 10+ bites.

One misty morning, a dishevelled and forlorn rowboat with only one oar, faces down a hoard of gleaming, motorised metal.

"Fight me," it's stance says.

But they daren't. On the off chance that it is capable of backing up this unearned confidence.

Just wrote down "cheery tomatoes" on my shopping list and now I kind of want to write a story about ensouled vegetables.

I have decided that we need a platonic term for "falling in love", as I have "fallen in friendship" way more often. And I mean something more poetic and less casual than "we became (fast) friends". Wordsmiths, friends, lovers, hit me with your best shot!

Hi there! I've written some books (including one with the fabulous @elibisme.bsky.social ). I think they are all very entertaining. Fantasy and (dare I say) cozy & folk horror. Ace, autistic, and non-binary/agender rep abound. Check here for links: linktr.ee/whistberry

Felt like poetry rock star yesterday when 28 people came to my poetry reading and I sold 8 books, considering @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com's story about the time no one showed up to a Good Omens signing. 😉 Seriously though, so grateful. #poetry #writingcommunity

In a house where darkness crept through every room, the power of a new dawn could not reach beyond the washing machine. Each cycle a fruitless attempt to make clean that which never could be.
