I encourage folks who have some level of privilege—like my fellow straight white guys— to act when you see an opportunity to stand up to jerks who are being anti-trans, racist, anti-semitic, or homophobic.
Sometimes it’s as simple as saying:
“Stop that. You’re being a jerk.”
