Over 850 days since international journalists allowed into Gaza.

Over 250 Palestinian journalists killed in that same time.

No United Nations fact-finding or International Criminal Court investigators given access.

Judges, prosecutors, UN experts and Palestinian NGOs are instead sanctioned.
The legal fight to open Gaza to foreign press has failed. It’s time to change course

As Israel’s Supreme Court continues enabling the government’s media ban, Palestinian journalists are paying the price. Further legal efforts are futile.

Very important point by Dirk Moses (shortened by me):

"Germany’s fixation on the Nazi regime locks actors into a catastrophic binary of absolute innocence and absolute evil.

Coming to terms with the Nazi past can't mean adopting its categorization of the world by simply inverting the value signs."

In today’s episode, @nhold.bsky.social returns to discuss how deportation is unjustifiable state violence no matter one’s immigration status or citizenship, and how that violence is naturalized when demands are framed around who or what is “legal”

An uprising broke out at an immigrant jail in southern Texas on Saturday, with around 1,000 immigrants detained in the facility — many of them children — chanting “Libertad” and “Let us go,” according to an attorney who witnessed the event.

Just a week ago, Shaat was celebrating his marriage

“We don’t have much time for joy,” he wrote, but “thank god, who allowed us to have our wedding party.”

“Today, I return once again to my work and national duty in the field of journalism,” he said.
Israel killed three Palestinian journalists in Gaza on Wednesday, including a freelance cameraman who contributed to CBS News. The network's president, Tom Cibrowski, let staff know at a meeting this morning, noting that Abdul Raouf Shaat had just been married. www.washingtonpost.com/world/2026/0...

My theory on this is that X isn't just an informational safe space / bubble for political / media elites - it's a *moral* bubble as well.

Journalists and politicians are basically losing any moral reaction to child abuse because they now digitally reside inside an app that creates that abuse
In the spirit of brotherly love, could I gently enquire why the almighty **** are government departments, government ministers and Labour MPs *STILL* using X?

If you think the elections in November are going to fix this you are delusional. Every year, regardless of leadership, ICE’s budget went up, every year our borders became more violent. This is an escalation yes, but a chapter of a much longer novel.

The respectability policing that goes on after cops or federal agents (who are also cops, y'all) kill someone is always unbearable. Dissecting the actions of the victim, putting them on trial when they cannot defend themselves, declaring they should have done this or that. Did they deserve to die?!

They are imperialist powers in an imperialist system! Whilst they DO align with the US, it's not like defending peripheral sovereignty is their imperative otherwise.
