Huge win for activists in central VA, who packed the house (and the parking lot and access roads) to oppose DHS' proposed ICE facility at what could have been a rubber-stamp hearing in Hanover County earlier this week. In sub-freezing temps, no less—nothing like MPS temps, but that's cold for here!
Canadian company will not sell Hanover building to Homeland Security for ICE facility
The company had previously said it was unaware of the intended purpose of the building when it agreed to sell it to the federal government.
