I don’t have the optimism of the second sentence anymore, but the country hasn’t had a chance to show that it rejects this administration yet, so I’ll table my cynicism for now.
MAGA wants you to believe kids and 79 year old white shop owners in Chicago are Antifa and helping Mexican drug cartels and deserve to be assaulted and zip tied.

Thankfully a majority of Americans aren't psychopaths.

what's the stupidest/randomest Simpsons quote that lives in your head rent free? Mine is the urge to say "you said go to bread" every time I am about to head to bed.

This is exactly the right tone when privileged people suffer minor or temporary consequences standing up for powerless people. It’s still about the powerless people.

ICE is Gestapo trash.
"I'm happy to report I'm just fine. I lost a button. But I'm gonna sleep in my bed tonight, safe, with my family... At that elevator, I was separated from someone named Edgardo... Edgardo is in ICE detention and he's not going to sleep in his bed tonight."

Seems like solid evidence that the ego of these men—that even after a public and deserved humiliation, They Alone Can Save America—cannot be understated.

“I wish I could have stayed anonymous after all my terrible behavior was revealed but I’m just too valuable not to run again!” 🙄
I've said it many times before and Andrew Cuomo is making me say it again: we don't have a cancellation problem. We have never had a cancellation problem. To the contrary, we have a problem that "disgrace" is a very temporary embarrassment— an brief entr'acte more than an intermission.

What information does he think “your doctor” has, if they cannot rely on clinical studies that your agency has rejected?

Each doctor has to run their own “randomized clinical trial”?

Vibes?
Margaret Brennan totally exposes FDA Commissioner Makary for making it up as he goes and making conflicting recommendations in order to cast doubt on covid vaccines. He's so terrible during this interview that Brennan is left shaking her head as she wraps it up.

If we were going to stop having trials and just exiling people, we should have started with him.
Trump: "We can't have a trial for every single person. That would be millions of trials ... I don't think the Supreme Court will stand for that. I can't believe it. Because you know what? If they do, we're not gonna have a country."

I do not care what you think of this sports issue that is definitely not affecting you in any way shape or form, the Republican Party’s broad project against trans people is a sin. When hindsight proves you’re wrong on this—and you are painfully wrong, Senator—you should resign.

That’s how damaging this is to the country, and to those doing what little there is to do to fight back.
A shutdown would give Donald Trump the keys to the city, state, and country.

Musk has said he wants a shutdown, and reporting has shown he is already making plans to use the shutdown to expedite his destruction of key government programs and services.

Do not expect the institutions to hold. Anyone who is citing law or policy as a reason why Trump can’t or won’t do X, Y, Z is either delusional themselves, or an institutionalist—whether by belief or necessity because of their job— and is not to be trusted.
