In the middle of the UK. Cricket, cats, coasts, calm. Most likely to order a flat white and a cheese twist. Thank God we have this government. Just imagine…
Feels like Starmer and Macron were part of the set up. Warmth, false security, backslapping and then bang - Zelenskyy’s the bad guy and praise to Putin. Sickening.

6 in 10 people in the UK have unfavourable opinions of #Trump and #Musk. That's not just the reasonable people on Bluesky, that's a representative UK sample, from research by Ipsos.

Feels like the the other 4 are making an awful lot of noise.

Frosty morning walk in Abington Park. Frozen ponds and crunchy grass, about as refreshing, clean and uncomplicated as life gets these days #Northampton #frost

I wish I knew how. It all feels so out of control.
We've crossed a very, very dangerous threshold. The combined forces of ignorance, disinformation, hate, and extreme wealth have seized power and are twisting the global agenda.

Decent people need to step up and counter it all, or things are simply going to descend into the pit of hell.

We’re all immune to it at this point but we have to remind ourselves that this is an abomination. A catastrophe. A grotesque corruption.

And a betrayal of the millions who fought and sacrificed in the great wars of the 20th Century to escape a world that works like this.
Today in this is not normal:

#Outnumbered Christmas special is about the worst thing I’ve ever seen on TV 🙄

Is it even Christmas if you don’t sit around with your family watching cats attack AI lizards on the TV?

I love the concept of an FA Cup for women's cricket and it's exciting to see the draw go right through to the final.

This news is one of the very few reasons I'm still hanging out with Twitter. The sooner cricket, especially Northants, gets onto BlueSky, the better! #cricket #ecb #steelbacks

I found this 'In Case of War' brochure from the Swedish government fascinating, and wonder if there's something similar for the UK.

Also, because I've read way too many dystopian novels, I think I know most of this stuff.
Sweden is prepared.
“A new Swedish version of the brochure ‘In case of crisis or war’ will be sent to all households from 18 November for two weeks. Here you will find a version in English to download, order or listen to.“

Gladiator II vs Gladiator. So similar it's more of a tribute film than a sequel, but entertaining and visually gorgeous. Plus there's Paul Mescal, and a warrior rhino and some Hunger Games style mutant monkeys. Teen daughter and I thought it was loads of blood and gore and fun.

I need to stop watching #GMB. I realised my body tenses up during interviews as the presenters (Madeley & Reid to Bridget Phillipson this morning) talk over guests, ignore answers & lay traps. No useful info gets shared. I hate this combative gotcha culture, it debases both politics & journalism 😡

My daughter won’t commit to Bluesky until Villa and Cobblers do. We’re missing a bunch of sports clubs and commentators that would make a big difference. #avfc #ntfc #football

So if it's a trade choice between:

a) chlorinated chicken, plastic cheese, nasty chocolate and

b) European food, beer & wine...

...I confess, I have a strong preference for the latter.

This is officially the first UK news story that broke for me on Bluesky, not Twitter. Hallelujah, it’s happening.
NEW: Archbishop of Canterbury resigns.

The same tweet, posted at the same time on here and on Twitter, commenting on @joannahs.bsky.social’s brilliant piece on the exodus of criminal barristers.
