They were giving away unused pumpkins at the library last weekend; this one was too far gone for eating so I painted it instead.

Grateful to spend two days on the Klamath watching chinook, liberated by dam removal, return to streams from which they’d been precluded since the Titanic sank. Fish are everywhere, in numbers that stagger the mind & locations that biologists figured would take years to repopulate. Too beautiful.

Just looked up again for about the 57th time: entropy. I don't think it means what most people seem to think it means, but I'm still not sure I know what it does mean.

Teapot Rock is now sadly gone. Washed into the sea by Hurricane Fiona a few years ago. This is an ink transfer on Arches 88 paper made using hand sanitizer and some old overhead projection transparency sheets. #printmaking #pei #blackandwhitephotography

From a thought-provoking New Yorker article called Phantasia, current, Nov 3 issue, by Larissa Macfarquar:
It was amazing how profoundly people could misunderstand one another, and assume that others didn't mean what they were saying--how minds could wrest sense out of things that made no sense.

Hard for me NOT to post about the World Series. A really great series. They all deserve an award, both teams, every player. Whew!
Game 3 was one of the best ever, game 5 very good and game 7 a stand up & bite your nails for 10 innings.
