I think a lot of commentators didn't appreciate how many immigrant parents in NYC looked at Zohran and saw the possibilities for their children

@showuptoronto.ca Thanks for writing about prisoners’ rights today.
This is important: “How a society treats its prisoners is a harbinger of how it will treat everyone it deems undesirable.”
Thank you.

Teen Vogue took young people seriously. It's impossible to overstate how important, how rare, and how profoundly needed that is.

I want to posit that one of the things we mean when we say we’re “procrastinating” is that our own sense of what matters has diverged from what our boss or company is concerned with. That is, procrastination is often a political conflict, not a personal failing.

Family in the neighborhood is out on their driveway with a bunch of crock pots serving meatballs and gnocchi to everyone that passes by (and candy for the kids too). They are the true heroes of this Halloween.

About twelve years ago — pre-children — L and I went as “French Kiss” for Halloween and it was my favorite costume yet. (Not shown in the photo: the baguettes we were holding to go along with the berets and cigarettes.)

Hey Ontario! You've heard of the disastrous Ford bill to destroy tenant rights, but did you know that Omnibus Bill 60 would entirely wipe out the ability of cities to right-size their roads by reducing lanes _at all_, not even just for bike lanes?

If children who are not related to you do not call you “Aunt” or “Uncle” then you have no charisma and no light in your eyes.
I used to love how my daughter's little friend Neha, down the street, would call me "Uncle Jeff" when the girls were little.

I have “aunts” and “uncles” who aren’t even remotely related to me, so this is ridiculous.
