Being among the first interrogated and ultimately fired by DOGE, I certainly felt we were facing the business end of a right-wing conspiracy theory 🧵
DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail

This is a must read if you want to understand the full scope of the anti-women systems in our culture, education and government.
With the Epstein Files being released, it's important to note: our expectations are tempered. This article from the New York Times (although they've lately published a *number* of enraging pieces) is a great explanation.

The US Department of Justice says it will appeal after a federal judge dismissed criminal charges against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia Dean.

Hours before the appeal was announced, Comey said he expected Trump ‘to come after me again’.

What MTG got right
MTG’s four-page note was stinging for House Republicans. Why? Because the message rang true to so many in the House GOP.

We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

I think we need to start visualizing the Trump Presidency ending, and socialize it. For it is the right thing to do for the country and the American people.
At this point we have to assume that if the Epstein files are released they will
- end the Trump Presidency
- implicate many other prominent Republicans
- destroy the careers of AG Bondi and his other defenders
This is beginning to feel like the greatest scandal in American history.
Trump has done enormous harm to the country.
He is a deeply corrupt and venal man.
He is wildly unpopular, his agenda more so. He's lost the consent of the governed.
He is old, infirm & clearly no longer mentally competent to run a nation.

It is time now to start talking about him moving on👇
