The problem with bubbles isn't that they pop you idiots. The problem is that the bubble, during uts existence, consumes capital and talent for a frivolous purpose. Resources are taken from the real economy to the bubble. The pop just reveals that.

Onedrive is like one of those parasites which will replace itself infront of some legitimate part of an animal's body and then pretend to be it to feed upon all which that part usually gets.

America, like most democracy that have obvious inescapable issues, is ride with post ironic patriotism. Their patriotism is a joke, but extremely real. This is why they react like that when you join into the ameribashing.

We exist in this absurd social reality where deliberately trying to piss someone off by being a dickhead, isn't seen as a major social failure akin to attacking someone.

The thing you must understand about the people is that they love the king, because no one speaks ill of the king. And until the king becomes a clear enemy of the people, the people will delusionally love the king. They will storm his palace, and chant long live the king.

Our problem in the Cold War was trying to preserve capitalism, even if it meant supporting dictatorships, rather than trying to preserve democracy, even if it meant supporting socialism.
we have to be willing to just fuck with foreign governments in order to promote pro-democracy forces and harm pro-authoritarian forces in those countries

*that's* our actual interest, not whatever faff natsec heads preach about "the rules based order"

I'd like to note that what tzun tzu actually says is that "the entertainment at camp are non negotiable actually" and "it costs this much don't fucking bitch about it" like as an opening line. But also, the book goes further in depth than this later on

i read through the sister sage entry on the boys wiki, and i find it insane how much they just accept everything she says at face value. That girl is a liar. The idea that her misanthropy doesn't extend to everyone is laughable. Did her grandma die of lukemia? did she invent a cure? who knows!!!

it's a consequence of the bicameral system. Compromise is garanteed to be a point, not a line, so when you have to make it fit that line, you have to porkbarrel and threaten the shit out of people.
the idea that you could just pass specific bills on specific areas with simple majorities is just beyond the ability and comprehension of most lawmakers in congress it seems
Its insane that American politics now more or less revolves around infrequently passing a single comically large overstuffed money bill instead of like... normal legislation

people often wish they were cats thining life for them is very easy. I'd like to note that only around 30% of housecats live in human homes. Most are feral.

Canadians are a kind of American actually. They're in the same national conversation as anglo Americans. notably not included, Quebecoi, who would have fit right in with the US, except that the US assimilated their franco-Americans, while Canada failed to.

In the british dominion, when you ask for lemonade, they will give you sprite. In southern latin America, if you ask for lemonade, it has mint and ginger. Both, equally cursed. For fuck's sake, just give me juiced lemons mixed in sugar water!

"Snitches get stitches" is such a bullshit idiom. Like bro, what did he snitch about? Your murder? Your rape? Your destruction of the community? Fuck you dude.

kurtis yarvin being taken seriously is the main negative of ozempic existing
It's amusing to observe Curtis Yarvin in this setting. He seems quite in love with the sound of his own voice. And most of his utterances are the sort of banalities you'd expect of a recent autodidact—wowed by the most superficial connections, and lacking deeper contextual knowledge.

The cool thing about neoliberalism is that you can blame it not just for when people apply it but when people apply the *opposite* it, because people obviously would only turn to reactionary social conservatism and medical quackery because someone else was neoliberal

Learning about the life of Claudius makes me think GRR Martin is a bit of a hack. It seems as though he uses his life as a framework both for Viseries and Tommen, with minor changes.
