Tusk using some strong language here “huge number”, “direct threat”. Makes it less likely that these were “just” some stray drones violating Polish airspace by accident. Not good.

Last night the Polish airspace was violated by a huge number of Russian drones. Those drones that posed a direct threat were shot down. I am in constant communication with the Secretary General of NATO and our allies.

On vocabulary:

"Preemtive" means that an armed attack is imminent.
"Preventive" means attacking in prevention of a possible future attack that is not (yet) imminent.
