The argument against regulation is always the same: “It stifles growth and jobs.”

But just as tax cuts for corporations have not trickled down, regulatory cuts have not benefited most people.

Big companies enjoy bigger profits. Working people bear the costs.

Not only will learning art history make you a better artist, but it'll make you a better person as well

Understanding the WHY behind art movements and the politics surrounding them will make you realize the importance of art in every aspect of your life
Y'know years ago I was pretty convinced learning art history wouldn't have a meaningful impact upon the art I make- until I eventually made the effort and started learning art history. Would highly recommend it if you haven't taken that step yourself. It will surprise, delight, and inspire you.

Went to see Moana 2 with family and have to say that I’m not shocked it was originally meant as a release straight to tv show.
Sad because the concept was there but it lost a lot of its spark with worse music, weird forced character relationships (the first movie had more natural believable ones)

Not exactly the same thing but I’ve often told people looking for job search advice “don’t self reject. Make them reject you.”
Sadly seeing so many orgs and institutions doing this already. I recently sent a picture this page to a group that cancelled a private post-election event on truth and trust because of its "unscripted nature."

After a miscarriage, Porsha Ngumezi bled so much that she needed 2 transfusions. She was anxious to get home to her young sons.
She needed a D&C—a procedure also used for abortions—to stop the bleeding. The hospital refused. Her heart stopped a few hours later.

A Third Woman Died Under Texas’ Abortion Ban. Doctors Are Avoiding D&Cs and Reaching for Riskier Miscarriage Treatments.
Thirty-five-year-old Porsha Ngumezi’s case raises questions about how abortion bans are pressuring doctors to avoid standard care even in straightforward miscarriages.

From a couple weeks ago but thought it would make a good first post: this is the signed beam from the topping out (last piece of steel going up) ceremony at a school I helped design.

Construction is challenging but it’s well worth it when the project is complete and it can help the community.
