One of my favorite arguments against Christianity by Thomas Paine is that the Jews were around for the resurrection and they say it didn't happen.

Ok, I have lib friends that shit on non-voters all day long. I get it, but nobody made the Kamala campaign flip the bird to the Teamsters while dumping cash on some random podcast. It's clear that there's more than one reason things are bad.

I would add that rejecting "viewpoint diversity" is the entire point of the academy. We evaluate the value of ideas, and drop charlatans claiming global warming isn't real, discrimination doesn't exist, or vaccines cause autism.

They've lost in the "marketplace of ideas" so are rigging the game.
The very same people who lambasted DEI efforts as a subversion of the meritocracy are happily taking money and jobs in the name of “viewpoint diversity”
This is a deeply researched article showing the web of conservative foundations and think tanks supporting efforts like UNC’s “civic life” school. Basically, if you study U.S. history through a conservative lens, there’s money out there for you.

Lots of ppl lately, talking more abt being a thing rather than doing a thing. It's no surprise that a fellow martial artist @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social makes the case not to prioritize being a thing over doing a thing. In a fight, all that counts is actions, not how u saw yourself or how u saw others

When you see right wingers mourning the death of a CEO, it's tempting to call that hypocritical. After all, they don't have that concern when a Palestinian or a black kid gets killed. But no, they are being consistent. For them, CEOs are people and the others aren't.

Sometimes the combination of arrogance and ignorance is breathtaking. Yes, US health care has high admin costs; that's because it relies so much on private insurers. Govt-run health insurance has much lower overhead
