A 2-year old US Citizen was deported Friday to Honduras.

So one of the things that is repeatedly showing up in response to this post is people saying things like “but don’t you realize history is misogynist” and look, there was a lot of misogyny in history, but there is even more misogyny in viewing history as a simple and easy monolith.
I’ve tried not to talk too much about Game of Thrones because people loved it and I don’t want to finger-wag, etc, but my problem with that series has always been its bone-deep misogyny.

My wedding venue in Scotland just posted that they have adopted two very fluffy cows, who will be available for petting at all future events. I am (rightly) about to be upstaged.

I’m a fourth year associate at a Big Law firm, and just also want to add - If your bosses aren’t taking any holidays (or respecting yours), it’s not going to get better. The difference between me and my friends who have left big law (often) is hugely dependent on our partners.
Good thread on holidays and office life. Obvi YMMV and every office is different but my two keys here:
1) whatever your view of face time, don’t focus on face time when no one can se it!
2) take the break/take the holiday —and if you can’t there better be a good reason or maybe it’s the wrong spot.

I miss what law Twitter use to be like and I hope that comes over here! Since it started dying over there, I moved to England, got engaged, and have become pretty happy in global sanctions and business/human rights law. I want the lil legal community back to talk about this stuff with!!
