even if you admit AI tools have some use cases, can a tool ultimately serve you when its creators are openly hostile to your creative practice?

using Miyazaki’s work was an intentional decision meant to send artists a clear message: we don’t respect you, and we are gonna do whatever we want.

controversially maybe I don't think this is unique to tech, it's just particularly visible because tech and finance are the dominant capital in the global North. watching Indian industrialists routinely massacre villagers makes it a bit hard to stomach the idea that this sociopathy is somehow novel
I have asked this a lot. Why are the people in tech, or at least the ones who seem to run our systems, such awful, evil, sociopaths?
