Amazed and relieved at the degree to which the coalition have fumbled this election campaign. Hopefully Albanese can land the plane

Just a legal historian here reminding everyone that “high crimes and misdemeanors” do not need to be felonies.

They can include political abuses and stupidity, like, hypothetically, destroying the economy and wiping out people’s savings in 3 days.

Right now there are a lot of new eyes on Signal, and not all of them are familiar with secure messaging and its nuances. Which means there’s misinfo flying around that might drive people away from Signal and private communications. 1/

It was literally the perfect American war. Mountains of cash for the military-industrial complex, far away, and no American lives on the line
Military aid to Ukraine has always been a bargain for the U.S.

We degraded Russia’s armed forces and replaced our own stockpiles with brand new weapons, all while brave Ukrainians— not Americans—fought the Russians off.

Halting that aid is not only morally repulsive, it’s plain stupid.

FFS. If you don’t like Copilot then just don’t use it. There’s plenty of other features in Word that you don’t use. It’s not that hard.

This performative outrage over AI features being added to software is such a pointless waste of energy
My laptop has done an update, and now Word is forcing Copilot on me, and I am livid. I want it to go away. It's not *enabled*, but I have to see the icon hovering on the side of the page, begging to be used. The tips and tricks for removing Copilot aren't working. @microsoft.com, this is TRASH.

It is impossible to prevent users with legitimate access to data from revealing it to others.

If they can see it they screenshot it, write it down, or even remember it with their brains and tell others about it…
One time some fresh-faced analyst asked how we turn off screenshots in Windows to prevent data exfiltration.

Oh buddy.
I counted *seven* different ways of doing screenshots and screen snipping in Windows (five in Windows 10 and five in Windows 11, but two of those are different); I explain how to use all of them - in a free edition of the AskWoody newsletter
