The key question in American politics now is whether public disapproval of Trump will grow fast enough to save our democracy before Trump builds such a crushing dictatorship that public opinion no longer matters.

"Trump is an outright racist and he appeals to 10s of millions of US citizens who are also outright racists" is both fundamentally, obviously true ... and something that mainstream journalism has decided is impermissible to say.

A president doesn’t get to decide which news you watch.
But a dictator does.

This U.S. administration would've lost World War II, if they'd even bothered to fight it. More likely, they would have cut deals with all the dictators to steal everyone's natural resources.

It's always hard to pick a worst day politically, but today the president called for the death of members of the opposition party, and the administration decided that people were being too hard on the swastika

I have this crazy hope that one day Morning Joe will recognize that there are more Christians in the United States than evangelicals.

Occasionally, MJ does acknowledge that Catholics exist. But the rest of us?

Invisible.

📍Senator Fetterman had a VFIB—the leading cause of cardiac arrest—he almost died if not for his implanted defibrillator, which can cost $34,000 to over $51,000. Days ago, he also just voted with GOP to gut health insurance tax credits for millions. Hope he has a change of heart.

As @rbreich.bsky.social notes billionaires and their families own X, Paramount, CBS, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, the Washington Post, Amazon, MGM, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, and could soon own Warner Bros and CNN

And they are all Trump supporters

"Liberal media" indeed

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

Vote "Yes" to retain!
Pennsylvania’s largest newspaper urged Pennsylvanians to vote YES to retain the three state Supreme Court justices in a scathing editorial on the danger of conservatives and billionaires seizing power over the PA court, like they did in Washington.
Voters should consider their choices carefully in judicial retention races | Editorial
Pennsylvanians should vote yes to retain the three Supreme Court justices, but there are some Philadelphia lower court judges who do not deserve another term.
