This is so good. When my then teenage sons went through the trying to be "edgy" stage, I kept explaining this, but I never managed it so succinctly.
2. Even if Trump's "I'm king" tweet *is* characterizable as a joke, you're never "just joking." Nobody is ever "just joking." Humor is a social act that performs a social function (always).
