Me changing the bed by myself
Obviously people can do what they want to their faces and bodies. We've also entered an era where every other celebrity - and your friends and family - has a new face every time you see them. It's so ... normalised, yet so disorienting.

A dissolute writer wakes up in rehab with no memory. There's something odd about the place, but he doesn't know what. Then he gets punched in the face by Ernest Hemingway. Read my novel Dead Writers in Rehab to find out what happens next.

Before she was famous, The Birds and Rebecca author Daphne du Maurier wrote UK Government travel warnings, famously beginning with her short pamphlet "Don't Lucknow."

First thoughts on Humans in the Loop and, for me, how this cautionary tale of AI chimes with anti-Indian sentiment in the global gaze. Currently streaming on @Netflix in the UK and worth a look. 📽️ #FilmSky

Humans in the Loop (2024): Deftly told tale of India and AI | Review
A simple story with many threads, Humans in the Loop proves haunting and painful on the things we stand to lose.

Is this a thing now? Newspaper republishes story it ran a month ago, but changes the date to appear brand new. The pics meta data actually suggest they were uploaded in September, so who knows, maybe it comes round every few months.

"Jewellery belonging to refugees could be seized to pay for housing" - but why stop there? Why not seize their clothes and shoes, hair and teeth? Surely there's a system by which we could deal with these vermin and process their belongings. We'll turn them into currency. How brightly we'll burn.

The only explanation that makes sense is that Donald Trump is and has always been a foreign agent tasked with destroying America. As an agent of chaos, he is unparalleled.

Honestly TELL THE STORY. Won’t someone just tell the fucking story of how Brexit created this economic hardship, how a Muslim immigrant just saved the lives of those commuters on that train, won’t someone in politics or even media just connect the fucking dots and TELL THE STORY. IT’S RIGHT THERE

The problem isn't that there are too many Black and brown faces on your television set, but that there aren't enough. Your discourse is so white that anything which is not like you is always and eternally alarming.
