Maybe next time Justice Thomas is in Bali he can notice why the air quality is so bad and why you can't drink the tap water there.

Foreign students are the only people who pay full price for undergrad at my alma mater (unless you are v rich and dumb) and plenty of schools use masters degree programs as ways to make bank off immigrants who want degrees from US institutions.

The best way to make subways safer is to have more people riding them. It is WAY scarier to be the only person on a train platform or in a subway car than to be one of many.

Don't fly Scoot. I know the prices are tempting, but they both have ridiculous policies and actually enforce them. It's not worth it.

My solution to this is always walking to the grocery store. If you have to carry it all home, you never buy more than you can carry.
when it comes to groceries, I don't care if it's 15 bags, I will say it out loud that "I will only take one trip" with the same conviction as "I will fight for those who can't fight for themselves"

The best part of the Singapore airport is the bathrooms in JEWEL. They have bidets, they are pretty empty, and the stalls are huge.

One of the bigger culture shocks in Indonesia is that kids learn the phrase "Hello Mister" in school as a way to greet white people, but they don't learn that it's specifically for men.

In the past two years the most American thing I have noticed about myself is when visiting countries that are monarchies/still recognize the king of England and thinking "wow, I'm really not into this whole having a king business"
