Wow, heck yes! Can we just go ahead and make it another multi-state coalition, pool resources?
Democratic lawmakers in California want the state to restore funding for scientific research that has been slashed by the Trump administration, creating an ambitious plan to use tens of billions of dollars in voter-approved bonds to fill the void.
California’s $23 Billion Plan to Restore Federal Cuts to Scientific Research
Democrats are calling for the creation of a state equivalent of the National Institutes of Health, but first state lawmakers and then voters would need to approve it.

This is beyond short-sighted, tipping into insanity. How do you “eliminate” a scientific finding? Even blindfolding yourself (because seeing gets in the way of profit) doesn’t make you un-see a fundamental, species-threatening truth.

This isn’t over yet. Spread the word.

Republicans' Big, Beautiful Bill would:

— Kick 16 million off their health care
— Close 1 out of 4 nursing homes
— Hike your energy bills
— Add at least $4 trillion to the national debt

It’s a gift to the rich and a disaster for families.

As a brutal heat wave overtakes much of the country, almost every single state lacks universal air conditioning in their prisons, where temperatures can exceed 120 degrees.

This isn’t an issue of comfort or luxury — it's an issue of life or death for many incarcerated people.

Trump cut $1.8 billion from health research, including pediatric cancer research, and his family diverted money raised for a kids’ cancer charity to their own businesses.

Funding cures for pediatric cancer is more effective than praying for the kids suffering from it.

Paraburkholderia fungorum... WTF is that?

Exactly. You’ve (thankfully) never heard of him—we hadn't either.

He's a rare soil bacteria that somehow ended up in ultrasound gel. Thanks to CDC’s lab sleuths, he got ID’d fast—before causing more serious harm.
