Like most red regions of the U.S., Staten Island is a net taker not giver when it comes to taxes and spending. The numbers cited here are a bit old (article from 2015, stats from 1993) but there's no reason to think the net outflow from NYC to SI is less than $200 million, rather than even more now.

After Texas news outlets made a public records request to see emails Gov. Abbott and Musk’s companies, state officials took months fighting and delaying their release.

Then, they released 1,374 pages with all but 200 of those pages entirely blacked out. trib.al/gAr6UQy

What do these corporations all have in common?

-Lockheed Martin
-Palantir
-Microsoft
-Amazon
-Comcast
-Google
-Apple
-Meta
-HP
-Nvidia
-T-Mobile

They all have lucrative government contracts — and they're all donors to Trump's ballroom.

At least 30 individual or corporations who have given over $116M to Trump and his super PAC have received regulatory favors from the Trump White House.

That includes Big Tobacco companies, Pharma giants, and crypto moguls like the Winklevoss twins.
