The children long for a female protagonist with a braid and magical powers singing a queer coded "don't hide your true self away" anthem.

(I am very glad the kiddo didn't see KPDH until about two weeks ago so I was able to side step making a costume for Halloween but it is now on deck for Purim.)

We should never forget that this synagogue was targeted specifically because of their work with HIAS on refugee rights. Seven years later, we should honor their legacy by fighting antisemitism, but also by continuing to do the work of supporting refugee resettlement and migrant rights.
Seven years ago today, 11 Jewish people were murdered at the Tree of Life Congregation, a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In their names, we will continue to stand up against hate, bigotry and the rise in antisemitism taking place around the country. May their memories be for a blessing.

🚨 My university just announced it's closing its Women & Gender Studies and Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies departments, merging them into English. The official reason? "Low enrollment." But our meeting with the provost tells a very different story about what's really happening here. 🧵

Normal wellness visits when my kids were really little usually meant two days off of work for me: one day off for the visit, and then a second when they inevitably popped a fever later that day and were thus excluded under the sick policy for the next day.
Setting aside the bad science, these recommendations will amplify the personal and professional burden that women face as family health managers. Because kids will need more medical visits and be more likely to get sick and very sick, meaning more time that moms will have to take off from paid work.
