What would be a good episode of #BrianClemensThriller to watch for #Halloween? 'A Place to Die' perhaps? 🙂

Yes, & I managed to miss the Bravo one. I was in a state of flux at the time, moving house. 🙂 #BrianClemensThriller

From memory, Bravo aired the TVM of 'Possession' in 1996 (and also 'Sleepwalker'), as sales copies of the original version couldn't be traced/accessed at the time #BrianClemensThriller

A great watch tonight. 'Where the Action Is', with Edd Byrnes playing a suave, almost Bond-like character, Eddie Vallance. A completely different feel to last week's episode. #BrianClemensThriller rings the changes once again & delivers another fresh & thoroughly entertaining 65-minutes.

Clip sales to satellite & cable channels were considerably cheaper as I recall well, which I suspect was the same for programmes. In London we were 5 short of the full run of 'The Thrillers'. To this day I've never seen the TVM of 'Possession', the only one to escape me. #BrianClemensThriller.

Yes, our British TV system/market - 3 and then 4 channels - was very different to the 'syndication' programming model designed for a multitude of local stations as in the US, Australia and a few other places. Only changed somewhat with the main arrival of satellite broadcasting in the 1990s

To think the US, Canada, & Australia clocked up another 10-years of screenings is incredible. It is such a shame that we didn't benefit. I suspect we fell foul of Equity's long standing arrangement with terrestrial TV restricting the number of UK broadcasts to one. #BrianClemensThriller.

Those TVM sequences had their uses! Alongside the marketing potential of a 'new' series, they bumped up the running time to c73 minutes, the standard programme length for a US 90min broadcast slot at the time.

One of those episodes that doesn’t really get talked about much and probably isn’t highly rated but I really like it.. and James Berwick is excellent in it #BrianClemensThriller

Reading the chapter in @martinmauthor1.bsky.social's book on how 'The Thrillers' package netted ITC $20-million in the first 8 months, selling to US stations. I bet many of them didn't realise it was the same series that some of them had finished repeating only a year earlier. #BrianClemensThriller.

My rewatch of #BrianClemensThriller this evening is all about gambling, & with very high stakes. Here's the London area TV Times billing from Saturday 8th February 1975, with viewers in the captial (including me) getting to see the episode at least an hour ahead of the rest of the UK.

In Spain, broadcast under the 'Tension' series title ... and in Malaysia simply as 'Thriller' (with a break for the news) #BrianClemensThriller

Grand Guignol! Magee, Wall and Henderson - the triumvirate - give their all and contrast the natural Joanna Pettet very well. Some of the imagery is very disturbing and director Malcolm Taylor (though self-deprecating when I spoke to him) is inspired.
