actions that will contribute more to pushing against bluesky's censorship than a blackout:

-submitting a feedback request
-@ing moderation about it
-commenting on mods posts about it
-making and sharing memes (ex: "i consent!" sticker)
-leaving an app store review
-just generally posting about it

Mastercard also had a statement in here that it would leave erotic fiction alone. Remind them of what they said in 2012
Article from 2012
It's funny the paypal rep told me PP had a no-nsfw policy since 1999 and also Visa said it would "take no action regarding lawful material that seeks to explore erotica in a fictional or educational manner."

I just want people to know about this ig

One of the sillier aspects of combating issues like this is that as the corpos start to realize they don’t actually have wide support, they start going silent. CS did the same after about the 3rd week

The lack of feedback can have a pseudo-chilling effect on activists, don’t let it

KEEP UP THE PRESSURE
A source familiar with internal workings at MasterCard notes the company is paying attention to calls around the payment processor issue. These calls continue to make the company uncomfortable internally

I hate telling this story, but when tear gas is in the news... telling always feels importantm

Tear gas is an abortifacient.

When I was tear gassed, we were trying for a baby.

The following day, I bled in a way I never have before. Like no period of my life before or since.

Horror movie stuff.
Tear gas everywhere.

a reminder to all my romance folks, card processors have moved on from block payments to sex workers to blocking payments to NSFW artists. we are absolutely a part of this fight.
If we can get big dog publishing companies to go knocking at paypros' doors then that would be a huge boon for us. Flood the publishers as concerned customers, get them to see what's happening!
Harlequin Publishing's number:

416-445-5860

I left a voicemail with the first option and went down the list until someone picked up. Legal suggested I email her and she would forward it to finance. We should call publishers.

While you weren't looking, *seventeen* House Democrats just voted to strip basic rights from trans members of the military and helped the GOP pass their far-right version of the NDAA, similar to what we reported on.

This is the most Dems voting for anti-trans legislation in Congress this year.

Woke up to quite the update on this. I had been in contact with Payment Cloud about getting their service and they waited until now to hit me with the image below. Again, stringing me along instead of being upfront. They had seen my website multiple times before this.

"Degradation" and "fantasy" are so vague, but to see cat ears and fairies specifically mentioned let's me know they intend to be extremely broad with how they interpret it.

This is "degenerate art" levels of censorship. We need ppl to start calling in the numbers we had a month ago about this

I am sincerely hands and knees begging people to do this.

The existential threat is getting pretty immense and it's not slowing down, not with the gov't *openly stating* that "consensual porn" is in the crosshairs.

*Please* call. Please write physical letters. Please keep the pressure on.
This is one of those things btw where calling/mailing VISA et al and being as willfully dense as possible is an amazingly good idea.

Bring up everything you own that falls under the category 'fantasy.'

Bring up everything you own with cat ears.

Be a pedantic little fuck about ALL of it.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen a social platform say that these child safety (aka anti-porn laws) are bad for everyone.

Governments around the world are “think of children”ing their way into tracking you online and forcing a monopoly of the internet. It’s getting really scary.

Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.

While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.

While i hesitate to say this was OUR doing, as japanese adult sites have been fighting their own battles here for a while now, this IS proof that these big payment processors can be made to reverse course on adult content

They can bleed. We can do this.
For further context: XCREAM is a site that has an R18+ section hosting JAV material. Visa cards were pulled in June, per a July announcement: en.xcream.net/pages/202507...

On Aug. 8th, XCREAM announced Visa cards are accepted again
