This 👇, btw, is an important point. The US Africa command in Stuttgart, to take one example, isn’t there to protect Germany.

But both can of course be true: Europe has been free-riding AND the US has a self-interest in being in Europe.

On 18.03.2014, #Russia annexed #Crimea. In his speech, #Putin assured the people of Ukraine that 🇷🇺 doesn't want to harm Ukraine, respects it's territorial integrity, and does not want "other regions" of Ukraine.
Now, 3 years into the full-scale invasion, he talks about "peace". Don't. Trust. Putin.
