If only we had learned from every previous time this happened that doing something on the cheap is only cheaper if that thing actually works; when it inevitably doesn't work you will have to pay for the failure and then pay full price (plus a rush fee) to have the job done properly.
"Astonishingly, the textbook companies had invested the equivalent of $567 million in the project, to meet the government’s commitment of $850 million."

At what point are actual monetary costs too high, these days?

The sixth picture in your phone gallery is what killed you.

Killed by cuteness clearly.

Today I learned that stalking a 17 year old girl, writing up a 400 page 'dossier' about her, falsely reporting her to the police and smashing her phone does not constitute 'harassment'.

One wonders what *would*.

I am passionate about patient and public involvement in science

I do NOT use AI (large language models) because that would be the absolute opposite of WHAT I DO as an Involvement contributor

I try and get the the core concept and put that in normal words

Using LLMs would be just deeply wrong
Second this. At my film studio, HERC Studios, we don't use AI for ANYTHING.

Everything we create is done entirely by human hands, eyes, ears, and brains.

From pre-production to production to post.

We operate on the firm belief that AI = basura.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

The one infamous paper that once claimed a link (Wakefield, late 1990s) was exposed as fraudulent, fully retracted, and the author was stripped of his medical license.

So claims like “The claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not evidence-based…” are misinformation.

One of the most damaging myths about autism is the idea that autistic people are “permanent teenagers.”
It’s patronising.
It’s insulting.
And it’s nowhere near reality. 1/10

It is kind of amazing to me that the hiring process does a good job of actively weeding out autistic people,

And then when autistic people actually get jobs they're like "wow direct and clear communication and a strong reliable work ethic, just what we're looking for!"

Could've fooled me..
Stop using chatgpt adopt an autistic with special interests TODAY this deal wont last forever mostly cause they get overstimulated pretty fast but hey great for the environment amirite

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
