I spent two and a half years editing a Football Manager database to make it just as it was in the early 90s when I started watching football. Players, managers, leagues, kits, transfers; all over the world. It is perfect. I've never played a game with it though.

Liberalism as an ideology has failed and produced global capitalism and climate change. It defends private property and individualism. If you identify with it that’s your issue. Most people walking around are not self aware ideological liberals aligning themselves with the philosophy.
If you use the term "liberal" as a personal or ideological slur it might make you seem in and cool to your lefty mutuals but it is destructive to any broader coalition building that might help the left flank build political power so really it's all about what your goals are
